When we started building Moistello, we evaluated multiple blockchain platforms. We chose Stellar for several reasons that align directly with our mission.

Stellar transaction fees are fractions of a cent. For savings circles where members may contribute small amounts regularly, high gas fees would make the system uneconomical. Stellar's fee model makes micro-savings viable.

Transactions on Stellar settle in 3-5 seconds. When a circle member needs to make a contribution before a deadline, waiting minutes or hours for confirmation is unacceptable. Stellar's speed enables real-time group finance.

Soroban Smart Contracts

Stellar's Soroban platform allows us to write smart contracts in Rust — a language we already use and trust. The Soroban SDK is well-designed, well-documented, and purpose-built for financial applications.

Mission Alignment
